Budget Summary-Monthly Variances Article

This functionality displays comments/notes that has been entered through the  Monthly Budget vs Actuals Variance Analysis screen for an account.


In the below example we are accessing the comments/notes for Account No. 100-6170-00 for 2014 Actuals.

Go to the "Budget Summary", click on the "Acct History" tab, and then select BudgetID you wish to review. 



Then click on the "Monthly Variances" tab and following screen will appear:



In the second line of the example, we are comparing the 2014 Actuals for Period 2 (February 2014) with the Budget from the "Exporter" BudgetID for February 2014.  The result is that $574.02 less was spent than budgeted which is a variance of -69% compared to budget. 


To access the comments, either hover your curser over the Drill downlink or drill into the link as per below.  Please note that Comments cannot be entered/edited from this screen.



As per the example, it is suggested that comments could include:

1) The reason for the variance;

2) The impact the variance may have on the current year's actuals results; and

3) The possible impact on next year's budget.
